This new poem is submitted in response to the Stellar and Lunar challenge prompt on the subject of luminescence https://tuckedintoacorner.wordpress.com/2015/12/03/stellar-and-lunar-returning/ and is the first in a new series I am working on that addresses the twin themes of darkness and light.
Wake
Phytoplankton glitter glamorously
in the turmoil behind the hydrofoil.
Some cry “Come and get me!”
Others warn us off.
From the moonlit deck,
awash with chit-chat and cocktails,
they all look great.
Stars fallen into ocean,
whipped to dancing life
by our engines & oars,
trail away with the glow of a ghost.
Very thought provoking. I’ve read it twice now and gotten two different meanings. I really enjoy such fluid implications. I’ll be back!
